Dr. Afolabi became a born-again Christian in 1977 while in High School and was a member of the Scripture Union and has continued to walk with the Lord since. In 1991 he attended a retreat weekend which ushered him to a higher calling to serve and engaged in Christian leadership with The Redeemed Evangelical Missions as Arts Ministry Director until 1993.

 

Afolabi joined Spring of Salvation Church Toronto, where he and his wife served in various helps ministries and leadership positions, one of which was to assist the Presiding Pastor. In 1996 Afolabi and his family moved and joined Evangel Temple, North York. where they served along with their children in various ministries and leadership for nearly twelve years.

 

In October 2007, Afolabi and Sandra together with their four boys with recommendation and a letter of transfer from Evangel Temple, joined ANFGCI where Afolabi and Sandra served as Assistant Pastors in the Ajax church. Shortly after, in 2009, he was transferred to the International Headquarter in Toronto as one of Founding Pastor’s Associates. While in Toronto, Afolabi was responsible for the Cell Ministry, Retreats, Prayers, Counseling and Member Development. He was also charged with the responsibility to provide leadership for the Men’s Ministry across the AFGCI Denomination.

 

In June 2011, Pastors Afolabi and Sandra assumed responsibilities as the Resident Pastors for the Churches in Durham Region and Peterborough. While in Ajax, the church rose from just over 100 to over 350 members in four short years. And with God’s help, they were able to raise two new pastors and developed many leaders. Between 2011 and 2018 Afolabi was a District Executive, where he provided leadership for 11 Churches in the Eastern District of Canada.

 

Afolabi and his wife Sandra, understands that people are a gift from God and therefore, genuinely love, respect and treasure every individual they meet. They are servant leaders, working to restore families and individuals in the church and the community; through Christ grace and love. Their ministry is family focused and continue to provide such godly leadership.

 

Prior to full time ministry, Afolabi worked in the Oil industry, Government and was engaged in Academic Research. He was also a business owner. Afolabi holds a Diploma, B. Sc., M. Sc. Degrees in Science, and two degrees in theology; Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry. He is also a Certified Pastoral Counsellor. His wife Rev. Sandra studied Pharmacology under University of Lagos and graduated from Seneca College, Toronto in 1999 where she studied Pharmaceutical Chemical Technology. She also holds other Allied Health certifications, a bachelor’s degree in Theology and is a candidate for Master of Theology degree. Together, they have founded two ministries and God has blessed them with four Young-Adult children.
